VoxScribe is a service provided by Anton Alpha GmbH for recording and transcribing audio files. Protecting your personal data is important to us. This privacy policy informs you about the data we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have.

3. Data Collected

3.1 Account Data

When you register, we collect:

  • Email address
  • Display name
  • Password (stored encrypted)

3.2 Audio Data

When using the service, we process:

  • Audio recordings and uploaded audio files
  • Transcripts of audio files
  • Metadata (file name, duration, format, creation date)

3.3 Technical Data

  • IP address
  • Device type and browser version
  • Usage timestamps

4. Purpose of Data Processing

  • Providing the audio recording and transcription service
  • User account management and authentication
  • Technical operation and security of the platform

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of contract) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interests).

5. Data Processing and Storage Location

All data is stored and processed in EU data centers. We use the following services:

  • Google Firebase (authentication, database, storage) — Data center: Europe (europe-west)
  • Google Cloud Run (application hosting) — Data center: Europe (europe-west4, Netherlands)
  • Microsoft Azure Speech Services (transcription) — Data center: Europe

Data processing agreements pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR are in place with all processors.

6. Microphone Permission (Mobile App)

The VoxScribe mobile app requires access to your device's microphone to create audio recordings. This permission is used exclusively for recordings that you actively initiate. No background recording occurs without your knowledge. You can revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.

7. Data Retention

  • Account data: until account deletion
  • Audio files and transcripts: until deleted by the user
  • Technical logs: maximum 90 days

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights:

  • Access (Art. 15) — What data is stored about you
  • Rectification (Art. 16) — Correction of inaccurate data
  • Erasure (Art. 17) — Deletion of your data
  • Restriction (Art. 18) — Restriction of processing
